About the opportunity

Avaya is consolidating their North American R&D labs into Thornton Colorado.  These labs support a mix of product, application, and solution development and test.  Testing includes functionality and a variety of performance and capacity testing and certification activities, often requiring definition, development, and support of a surrounding test environment.   We are looking for an energetic individual to join our lab team to be a part of the consolidation planning, execution, and then to be a leader in the ongoing lab management and “futurization” activities. 


About the requirement

  • Basic experience with networking required, desire vLAN and router experience
  • Strong understanding of data storage management ( SAN technology - NIMBLE, Equallogic )
  • 3+ years’ experience working in the VMware application suite and medium sized virtualized environments (>>100 hosts, 1,000s of VMs)
    • vSphere 6+ administration and setup
    • ESXi host management
    • vCenter
    • clustering
    • backups / troubleshooting
    • Scripting / APIs
    • users, user groups, and permissions

  • Highly proficient in the administration of Windows and various Linux flavors
  • Experience in KVM administration is a plus
  • Will work with R&D operations leaders, local and remote product developers & testers, and other Avaya site contacts to meet their needs while identifying viable alternative optimal implementations
  • Comfortable in your people skills and excellent communicator
  • Skillful negotiator when working through architectural concepts and proposals
  • Adept in documenting proposals and final plans - using Microsoft tools such as Word, Excel, and Visio
  • Will require some hands/eyes/feet activities for remote teams including racking, cabling, plugging in USBs or DVDs,
  • Willingness to learn via online learning and self-exploration
    Candidates must have a can-do attitude - you will be given latitude and support to investigate and trial new technologies


Bachelor degree or equivalent experience
Master degree or equivalent experience
