Job Duties

Avaya Inc. seeks a Software Engineer II (Java Backend Developer) to design, deploy, and support best in class software development processes and tools. Develop tasks including module design and coding, debugging, and documentation of application programs and systems level programming. Conduct systems programming and systems support activities. Develop coding and design tasks to ensure software meets specified performance, scalability and reliability requirements. Define model interfaces/formats for performance simulation. Define the module specific requirements for software development projects. Design, analyze, plan, and modify network components supporting communication implementation activities. Provide support to customer and account teams to understand customer requirements and responds to customer problems. Provide technical solutions to a diverse range of difficult problems.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or a related field and five (5) years of experience in a software engineering role. Requires 5 years of experience in: software development and building successful production software systems; object-oriented design, algorithm design, data structures, problem solving, and complexity analysis; developing cloud software services and design for scalability, performance and reliability; Java software development in Linux environments; developing REST APIs, Middle Tier and server side applications; Java multi-threading concepts and best-practices; source control (SVN, Git) and Linux shell.
