The Services Enterprise Architect  provides a single point of technical accountability with select Avaya customers acting in their best interest as trusted advisor. Develops the architectural and solution roadmap in alignment with customer’s strategy, key business drivers, and expected outcomes. Demonstrates business relevance of Avaya’s solutions to internal/ external executive stakeholders. Delivers value to Avaya and our customers by doing the following:


Create Business Relevance:

  • Study customer's business and industry to gain understanding of key business drivers, market issues and priorities
  • Builds trusted technical and business advisor relationships with customer executives
  • Consults with executives about the relevancy of new and emerging Avaya solutions to their business, linking the Avaya vision to the customer's business strategy
  • Remain up to date on industry standards and regulations relevant to the customer’s business
  • Ensures the architectural integration, impact and capabilities of Avaya's overall solutions portfolio are understood and valued.
  • Positions a multi-year technology roadmap to help drive the relevant business strategy and goals
  • Positions the appropriate services and organizations required to support the customer’s roadmap

Work across boundaries:

  • Acts as technical liaison between various customer leaders to ensure disparate initiatives tie into the customer's vision, business strategy and roadmap
  • Builds relationships with internal stakeholders to drive customer requirements across Business Units (BUs)


Build Intelligence:

  • Describes how Avaya's competitive positioning compares to other competitors' positioning at an overall business and technology level, keeping current on capabilities and limitations of competition
  • Recognizes potential overall business and architectural competitive advantage from the customer's perspective, knowing when to collaborate and when to compete with other key providers
  • Identifies competitive win strategies from an overall business and architectural portfolio perspective
  • Establishes expert knowledge in fundamental infrastructure and security principles and architectures in the context of Avaya’s value proposition


Optimize Sales:

  • Identifies potential gaps in the relevant areas of the customer’s solution to create opportunities to enlarge the sales base
  • Evaluates and prioritizes technical opportunities with the greatest potential for producing positive business results for the customer, mitigating any potential deployment derailers
  • Works with Account Team to prepare for engagements by providing architectural overviews and highlighting potential competitive threats



  • Analyze business requirements to develop technical Avaya solutions and their framework. 
  • Design, test, and inspect customer data and voice topology, helps with modelling, analysis, and planning.
  • Works with appropriate parties to resolve discrepancies between proposed systems and enterprise quality and security standards.
  • Provides technical and administrative direction for personnel performing service delivery tasks
  • A self-starter and able to pick new things on the go
  • Write functional and non-functional requirements/specifications documents 
  • Determines solution direction and roadmaps. 
  • Acts as an advisor based on analysis of customer strategy, desired business outcomes and new technology
  • Designated technical authority for services
  • Aids in defining the client’s path to Cloud
  • Understands and solves business problems
  • Technical governance for implementation and client adoption
  • Ensures design standards and principles are adhered to
  • Documents and maintains architecture designs HLD/LLD
  • Works closely with Delivery Executive, Field Sales and Customer Success, and Day 1 and Day 2 operations
  • Key participant in MBR, QBR, and client strategy discussions
  • Works independently in a customer-oriented capacity




BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Management or equivalent field
