Job Duties

Location: San Jose, CA

Avaya Inc. seeks a Software Engineer II at our office location in San Jose, CA to design Validation and Integration Test Engineer for the Unified Communication and Contact Center application development platforms to support applications using Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) and Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) and other communication protocols. Responsible for requirements and design analysis, devising test strategy, planning and execution, automation design and development, technical troubleshooting, and consultation across the solution range including Avaya Breeze, Engagement Call Control, Message Recording, Avaya Common Services Platform, Avaya Communications Platform as a Service, interactions with Engagement Designer, Avaya Aura Platform. Responsible for interacting with and troubleshooting customer issues in complex customer environments. Provide mentoring and coaching for teams and individuals. Telecommuting permitted.

 

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or related field of study and five (5) years of experience is required. Experience must include: SIP and HTTP protocols; performance modeling, capacity, scalability planning, and usage of reliability models; enterprise applications; Java; J2EE; JBoss, Tomcat; RESTFUL Web services, Swagger, Linux Shell Scripting, NGINX, Web sockets; network management systems, Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP); Avaya Unified Communication products; and Jira, Jmeter, Postman, curl, sipp, and Selenium. Telecommuting permitted.
