Short Description

Assists with planning and implementing activities related to the timely, cost-effective inventory planning levels and parameters. May assists in the development, implementation, and maintenance of policies, procedures, and material control systems to reduce costs, streamline procedures and implement solutions. Ensures that materials in the supply chain are available as scheduled and inventory is maintained at minimum acceptable levels. Coordinates with finance/accounting on matters involving inventory control. Works with IT on system issues and may recommend changes. Extracts system information and helps to develop appropriate action plans to achieve objectives and prepares/analyzes key information for management. May assist with the establishment and maintenance of the production control system. May work with customers in auditing customer inventory levels and with internal and external vendors to comply with inventory policies.. Frequently interacts with functional peer group managers and with management in other functional organizations. Coordinates activities and projects of a section or department with responsibility for results in terms of costs and methods. Works with limited guidance on projects within defined criteria. Provides solutions to a diverse range of moderately complex problems.
