Short Description

Module Lead - QA Automation

The Contact Center (CC) quality assurance team in Pune is looking for a senior test engineer to assess software quality through writing and updating automated system tests using Selenium with Java. The team is looking for a strong and customer focused engineer with extensive software and test engineering skills.
Candidate should also have passion for innovation and make use of Avaya innovation platform to file Patents


• Enhance, implement and develop automated test strategies/frameworks for web and windows applications primarily using Selenium with JAVA and Visual Studio’s Coded UI module.
• Design and create automated test scripts using Selenium with JAVA and/or JavaScript to address areas such as database impacts, software scenarios, regression testing, negative testing, error or bug retests, or usability in preparation for implementation.
• Understand the product requirements; envision stakeholder requirements to transform these to Use cases and create test plans.
• Collaborate with QA Engineers to develop effective strategies and test plans

Experience & Key Competencies required:

• 3-4 years of proven experience in developing automated test systems using Selenium with Java and/or Visual Studio’s Coded UI module for both web and windows applications.
• Ability to create scripts beyond record and playback using Selenium with JAVA. Specifically developing functions, adding control flow logic, running scripts in suites, using selenium remote web drivers etc.
• Familiarity with complex automated system and project management life cycle practices/tools
• Working knowledge of test management software (e.g. Quality Center, JIRA), source control systems (e.g. GIT), build management tools (e.g. Maven, Bamboo, JENKINS)
• Analytical mind, problem-solving aptitude and strong troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication in English language.
• Must be process-oriented, resourceful, flexible, and able to work independently.
• Understanding of Agile methodologies.
• Knowledge on Contact Centre applications, DevOps tools like Ansible will be added advantage.
• Knowledge of performance testing and tools like JMeter will be added advantage.

Key skills:

• Technical: Testing methodologies, Selenium with Java, JavaScript, Linux, RDBMS, Shell /Perl/Python/Ansible scripting.
• Initiative: Volunteers readily; Undertakes self-development activities; Seeks increased responsibilities and takes ownership of tasks at hand; Takes independent actions and calculated risks; Looks for and takes advantage of opportunities; Asks for and offers help when needed


• Proven experience in developing automated test systems using JavaScript/Selenium.
• Linux knowledge and strong troubleshooting skills
• General Telecom knowledge, Contact Center.

Education Criteria:
• B.E./B.Tech/MCA /BSc (Computer Science) 



7 - 10 Years of Experience


Bachelor degree or equivalent experience
