ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
As a Technical Manager in Avaya you will be leading the team working on cutting edge technologies to deliver a quality software product on schedule and with excellent quality by applying your knowledge of management, software development methodologies, best practices, and proven processes.
ABOUT THE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage a functional team with specific focus and feature delivery responsibility
- Work with product owners, architects, partners, vendors, support and internal/external customers in defining the product/solution strategy and implementation
- Responsible for designing, developing and delivering features meeting quality, schedule and budget targets
- Facilitate requirements’ reviews, feasibility studies and assimilate design estimates
- Build and maintain schedules, track progress and provide regular status updates on key project milestones
- Responsible for risk identification and mitigation
- Provide technical and hands-on leadership across multiple project areas
- Responsible for improving the functional excellence of the team
- Responsible for Initiating hiring/engagement, maintenance of employee data and all supervisor transactions for their direct reports
- Direct a team of 7+ people. Perform all coaching and management functions including setting priorities, performance assessment with some upper management oversight.
ABOUT THE REQUIREMENTS
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
Management:
• Excellent project management skills using Agile methodologies
• Outstanding collaboration and communication skills
• Ability to effectively collaborate with distributed team.
• Understand and practice Agile development methodology.
• Experience with successful multi-site development projects
• Should be able to technically lead, implement and handle the complete delivery of the component/modules owned
• Customer facing experience in key product deliverables.
• Well versed with all aspects of people management
• Should be able to mentor and motivate the team.
Technical:
• Strong knowledge in Microservices, Java 8, J2EE, Spring 5
• Experience of any public cloud like Azure, AWS, Google Cloud
• Experience with source code version control systems (GitHub), CI/CD.
• Should be able to guide the team technically and solve the issues when stuck.
• Contribute the development, solving critical customer issues as and when required
