Short Description

The software engineer will be part of a development team with responsibility for the new functionality within Avaya Mobile Experience (AME) that will enable it to interoperate with the IMS based applications to evolve the current solutions and have a strong background in Automated Speech Recognition (ASR) software. AME is the first of a kind Mobile Services solution (internally known as APEX.)  This program will be critical in taking the existing solutions sets within AME and moving them into an RCS paradigm and propelling the digital transformation our customers require.

• AME Enhancements for RCS & ASR. This software engineer will be part of a development team that has responsibility for the design and implementation of enhancements to AME that will enable it to seamlessly utilize RCS & ASR technologies to enrich the user experience. This functionality will essentially orchestrate the workflow that is needed to reduce the difficulty mobile callers have interacting with an enterprise. 


About the Individual

The successful candidate will design and implement enhancements to AME transaction models that will enable it to seamlessly move customers to an RCS based transaction/interaction model. The software engineer will be expected to complete all assigned deliverables with an emphasis on achieving high quality and in a timeframe that supports a rapidly growing business.

Required Capabilities and Skills

• Excellent written and verbal communications
• Strong understanding of voice over IP/SIP/RTP, call flows, call routing fundamentals, packet capturing/debugging, etc.
• Strong background in cellular technologies in general and RCS specifically
• Expert knowledge of Nuance speech technologies
• Demonstrated experience with FreeSWITCH and Kamailio
• Expert knowledge of the Erlang calculations
• Experience using Tomcat server technology
• Proven experience implementing, supporting, and documenting the server side of REST APIs




7+ Years of Experience


Bachelor degree or equivalent experience

Advance Degree preferred
