Short Description

This opportunity is within the Controller organization and will report to the Director General Accounting and Consolidation.  The Senior Manager Corporate and Benefit Accounting is an essential position in implementing and monitoring procedures to assist in the timely and accurate monthly financial closes and consolidation.  This would include journal entry approval and account reconciliation compliance.  Position will interface with Avaya Tax on close issues that impact tax accounting.  In addition, this individual will ensure compliance to US GAAP accounting thru their knowledge and experience as well as their ability to interact with Avaya’s External Reporting and Accounting Policy team.  Finally this position will provide support to members of the General Accounting Organization on US GAAP requirements. 

Requirements

BS degree in Accounting with a CPA required.

Background in a General Ledger closing/consolidation of a multi-national company, including currency impact and intercompany eliminations

 Experience in Benefit/Pension/Stock Option accounting a plus,

In-depth working knowledge of Sox compliance.

Prior interaction with External and Internal Auditors required.

Excellent organization and communication skills.

Ability to collaboratively lead cross-functional teams

Strong interpersonal skills with an effective ability to influence others and establish and maintain cross functional relationships.
