The Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Manager is responsible for recognizing, creating and implementing plans to promote diversity within an organization. A significant part of the role is promoting and developing training programs to enhance employee understanding on inclusions issues.  

The Diversity and Inclusion Manager acts as an HR regulator for diversity issues and is tasked with ensuring the organization follows appropriate legislation and employment law regulations around bias and inclusion.

Responsibilities

Design and maintain up to date company policies that reinforce diversity in the workplace

Manage training solutions to leaders on selection, management, development, recognition and evaluation of diverse employees to drive retention and career success

Revise and update all communication on our website, social media pages, job descriptions and internal documents to ensure we use non-discriminatory language.Review our selection criteria to verify they’re objective and strictly job-related

Measure and forecast diversity metrics.Defines D&I scope and strategy specific to a business unit, including deliverables and measurements of success.

Act as a consultant to under-represented groups and make sure all voices are heard through the Avaya ERG’s.Surveys the business to determine D&I needs. Collaborates with the D&I office to identify, align on and prioritize appropriate solutions and partners to deliver results. May independently execute certain business-specific solutions as determined by the D&I office.

Additional Responsibilities & Qualifications

Partners with D&I office to clearly connect ongoing and emerging efforts into one cohesive plan.Partners with the D&I communications and business communications teams to establish a consistent and proactive communications plan both for leaders and employees on D&I efforts.Is a change agent, helping to evolve the D&I support and guidance we provide business partners – helping us move faster and more effective as we strengthen our D&I capabilities as an organization.Supports the business unit’s efforts in the global D&I space. With business leaders, D&I office, and talent teams – establishes market by market plans that are appropriate by country/multi-country market (MCM) and connects to the larger enterprise D&I framework.May facilitate or engage in internal speaking engagements on behalf of the office of D&I.In partnership with Talent Analytics and D&I office, co-owns the measurement of D&I programs and more specifically the tracking of business level representation metrics allowing senior leaders visibility into their organizations and ensuring progress is being made. Shares responsibility with talent leaders (CTO/RTO/STA/TA) to consult with business leaders to collaboratively adapt or adjust plans based on needs of the business.Represent our company at various career events (such as job fairs) Ensure compliance with state or country regulations on diversity and equity Create a clear roadmap defining the D&I strategy that includes an annual calendar of events with a global reach.Take active lead role in D&I Council.4 years of demonstrated experience related to Diversity, Equity & Inclusiveness desirable .Speaking engagements in public forums  .Community outreach work .Formal negotiation work  .Membership/leadership in ERG’s past or present
