Short Description

We are looking for a Competitive Marketing Manager to help better position our solutions and products to maximise our differentiation and impact in the market.


You will be part of a small team researching and analyzing key competitors and competitive trends, as well as determining appropriate responses, programs and corrective action required as a result. You will work closely with the solution marketing managers to ensure this insight is incorporated into their positioning and messaging, with product management to inform roadmaps and capabilities, and with the field (sales and partners) to gather insights, verify positioning, determine appropriate competitive responses and ensure they have what they need to increase their competitive win rates.

  • Help execute on a comprehensive competitive intelligence program, including win/loss analysis, competitor product launches, objection handling, and more.
  • Understand Avaya products and solutions and know the competitors inside and out.
  • Study competitors’ product and solution offerings (from changes in their web presence to new product launches), financial statements, roadmaps, and strategies. Track the news for any updates or changes in patents, legal information, and economic developments
  • Help to translate data into business insights, write reports, and presentations. Turn any data collected into clear information such as battlecards, briefings, and other assets to guide the field and support positioning to the market
  • Work cross-functionality between product, marketing, sales, and sales enablement teams to develop and share competitive intelligence across the company, ensure sales are enabled to position successfully against competitors, and develop competitive campaigns to drive competitive displacement and wins.
  • Develop and maintain a network of information sources, including internal teams, partners, customers, and analysts.
  • Provide field support for sales teams engaged in competitive discussions with prospects or customers.
  • Help to brief internal teams on a quarterly basis around new competitor technologies, competitive messaging, and positioning issues.
  • Competitive experience in CX and cloud software (2 years) – industry background in cloud, customer experience and contact center preferred
  • Experience in competitor analysis, research, and the collection of data for business purposes
  • Good content creation skills, ability to quickly understand concepts, opportunities, and differences, and translate these into differentiation
  • Experience in developing competitive content
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • BS / BA in marketing, communications or relevant experience
3 - 6 Years of Experience
Bachelor degree or equivalent experience
