About the Role

Avaya’s UX team is growing and needs a versatile Senior UX/UI Designer who will thrive in an energetic and agile environment.

For this position, you will be part of our globally UX/UI team who provide support to a large ecosystem of cloud digital products. As a lead Senior Designer, you will participate in all aspects of projects, from design thinking, design sprints to prototyping and executive playbacks. As a valued member of the team, you will work collaboratively and champion UX to others across the organization and coordinated projects.

To be successful in this role you will be a collaborative problem solver who is energized by a good challenge. You are empathetic and self-aware, with a history of building successful working relationships. You also have an outstanding design portfolio that demonstrates your achievements. You are comfortable discussing the business challenges, constraints, and decisions you faced while creating those artifacts.

About the Requirements


  • 7+ years of experience designing products and cloud interfaces for web & mobile applications.
  • Experience working closely with cloud products and engineering teams to champion design at every step.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities and projects.
  • Strong knowledge of Agile UX methodologies (Scrum Master experience a bonus).
  • Strong knowledge of native Web and Native IOS and Android UX best practices and methodologies.
  • Strong knowledge of accessibility best practices
  • Strong knowledge of UX writing.
  • Strong knowledge of Confluence, Jira or Asana
  • Bonus: Experience in Unified communication and Call Center business models.
  • Bonus: Scrum Master experience.
  • Bonus: Knowledge in Enterprise SaaS (Software as a Service).



  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Exceptional UX design disciplines and principles.
  • Outstanding UI skillset: visual, typographic, grid system and interaction design disciplines and principles.
  • Proficient in Figma, Sketch or Adobe CC Suite (Figma is preferred).
  • Self-motivated to prioritize and manage workload and meet critical project milestones and deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently but collaboratively.
  • Proficient time management skills.
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Knowledge of usability and observational studies.
  • Have an online portfolio showing a mix of UX/UI design experience and results.

About the Responsibilities

  • Effectively communicate design decisions to product teams, users, and leadership teams.
  • Gathering, evaluating, and organizing user requirements, in collaboration with product managers and engineers.
  • Guide complex features from concept level to production and post-launch evaluation.
  • Design and specify user needs using participatory and iterative design techniques, including observational studies, customer interviews, usability testing, and other forms of requirement's discovery.
  • Produce design conceptual models using storyboards; flow charts; sitemaps; sketches, low and high-fidelity wireframes, and interactive prototypes to ensure that the business, brand, and user goals are met.
  • Adhere to our design system UX and UI library styles and standards.
  • Work closely with product owners, lead developers, and management.
  • Coach and mentor both UX and project team members to help promote and influence a user centered mindset shift throughout the organization.
  • Maintain an awareness of current trends in technology, design, and user experience to identify opportunities to enhance our products and global design system.
  • Prepare and present to internal teams and key stakeholders.
  • Guiding and participating in front-end development demos to ensure the UX design achieves our set goals and meets end-user needs.
  • Assisting with in-field research and usability testing.

University Degree, College Diploma, Certification in a Design related field or equivalent work experience.
