We are looking for a hands-on and dedicated technical leader to join our team and be at the forefront of groundbreaking advancements. As a Software Engineering Director at Avaya, you'll have the incredible opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies, including integrating social media and other innovative tools. Your leadership and expertise will provide strategic direction for designing, developing, testing, and deploying new features and functionality for Contact Center platforms.

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of software engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and fostering a collaborative and inclusive culture.
  • Drive the development and delivery of high-quality software solutions, ensuring on-time project completion and adherence to Agile software development practices.
  • Utilize your expertise in cutting-edge technologies, such as Cloud Native architecture and Microservices, to drive innovation and solve complex digital challenges.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align engineering efforts and drive the successful delivery of projects.
  • Drive continuous improvement in software development processes and tools to enhance productivity and efficiency.
  • Identify risks and issues proactively and implement mitigation strategies to minimize their impact on project deliverables.
  • Monitor project progress, track key metrics, and report on status to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Act as a servant leader, removing roadblocks, empowering your team members, and advocating for their professional growth and success.

 

Qualifications

  • Proven experience (10 years+) in software engineering, including hands-on experience with software development and delivery.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead and motivate a team of software engineers.
  • Excellent technical knowledge and proficiency in object-oriented programming languages (e.g., Java, GO, C++, Python) and software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum).
  • Experience with cloud-based technologies, microservices architecture, and DevOps practices.
  • Solid understanding of software engineering best practices, including coding standards, code reviews, testing methodologies, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions in complex situations.
  • Effective communication and skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at various levels of the organization.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. A master's degree is a plus.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Compensation, Benefits, and Perks

The base salary range for this role is $137,300 - $268,400 + bonus + benefits.
