About The Opportunity
The Avaya R&D team in Irving is looking for a SRE/DevOps Consulting Software Engineer to be part of Global team that is building SRE/DevOps practice. We are looking for Software Engineers with Operations’ mindset. Role will be part of the team responsible for development, deployment, and operations of the cloud native microservices in Azure. The team seeks a strong, customer-focused engineer with experience in DevOps and SRE principles and processes.
Candidate should have a passion for reliability and mindset to reduce toil. To be successful in this role you will have had recent experience building, deploying, and running available cloud-native services.
ABOUT THE RESPONSIBILITIES
•Run the production environment by monitoring availability and taking a holistic view of system health
•Build software and systems to manage platform infrastructure and applications – CICD and Deployment Pipelines
•Design, build, maintain and secure cloud infrastructure and Managed services
•Improve reliability, quality, and time-to-market of our suite of software solutions
•Measure and optimize system performance based on metrics
•Provide primary operational support and engineering for multiple large-scale distributed software applications
•Troubleshoot, Debug Production Issues
•Participation in scrum events daily stand-up, sprint review, demo, retrospective
•Build SLI and SLO for Microservices
•Educate and mentor staff on SRE Practices
About You
EXPERIENCE
•Experience as a DevOps and SRE Engineer
•Hands on experience with Application CICD and Infrastructure Pipelines
•Proven experience – Reducing Toil - Automating manual Dev and Ops processes
•Experience in building and deploying Containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
•Experience in Linux and Linux Administration
•Experience using version control systems as Git
•Experience with Automation tools
•Software Development Experience strongly desirable

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
•Must be passionate about DevOps and SRE principles
•Hands on expereince building CI/CD tools and Infrastructure as Code pipelines.
•Expert Level knowledge in in cloud computing, distributed systems, high availability, Low Latency, Zero Downtime Systems
•Expert knowledge of cloud infrastructure components - DNS, CDN, WAF, Routers, Load Balancers, Compute, Storage, and networking
•Hands on experience managing Kubernetes Clusters, Istio Service Mesh
•Strong understanding of security/compliance requirements
•Experience designing and deploying Istio and related cloud services using Infrastructure as Code tools to support Zero Down Time
•Hands on experience with Shell scripting, Nodejs, Python
•Excellent Verbal and Written communication skills

The pay range for this opportunity is from $130,000 to $175,000 + performance-related bonus + benefits
This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary for this position. This role is also eligible to receive an annual bonus that aligns with individual and company performance. Actual salaries will vary and are based on factors such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and location.
