About the Opportunity

Avaya is looking for a talented and motivated corporation tax manager to work as part of the Avaya tax team and support the wider finance and business teams. The tax manager will have a broad range of responsibilities (see below)

The successful candidate must be inquisitive, enthusiastic, enjoy working hard and being continually challenged, demonstrate sound judgment and have the ability to collaborate cross-functionally with people at all levels inside and outside Avaya. This role reports directly to the International Tax Director.

  • Review of quarterly and year-end tax provisions (US GAAP reporting) for assigned jurisdictions, including UK
  • Calculation and documentation of uncertain tax positions (Fin48)
  • Support Sarbanes Oxley documentation processes for relevant transactions
  • Review of local country tax returns, including UK
  • Ensuring compliance with local and international tax laws
  • Assistance with the calculation of the global cash tax forecast
  • Participation in and support of business led planning initiatives, including merger & acquisition; tax research, modelling/analysis and keeping current on tax developments
  • Ad-hoc tax support and advice to finance department colleagues
About You
  • ACCA, ACA and/or CTA
  • Big 4 experience a plus
  • Solid and relevant corporate tax experience, in public accounting or industry
  • Experience with corporate tax accounting (US GAAP preferable) and tax compliance
  • Solid Word, Excel, PowerPoint skills, Corptax and SAP experience preferable
  • Experience with US Headquartered international tax matters
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills
  • Must possess strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to problem solve
  • Self-starter and ability to constructively challenge
