Avaya Corporate Security & Business Continuity’s mission is to ensure Avaya’s business is enabled in a secure, ethical, and resilient manner.  While key responsibilities of ACS&BC include investigations of employee misconduct, physical security, business continuity consulting and planning, development and management of the Avaya Security Policy, and security assessment support, it is the manner in which those responsibilities are met – collaboratively with our security partners and working with the business, and not against - that allows ACS&BC to achieve its goal of enabling secure business.

About the Opportunity


The Regional Security Manager will share responsibility for a variety of aspects of security within the AEMEA (Africa, Europe, Middle East, and Asia) business. 


Key responsibilities of this position include: developing relationships with the key leaders across the organisation to ensure awareness of security policies and processes and to provide awareness support; conducting investigations - in collaboration with other Avaya Corporate Security, HR, and Brand Protection resources, as appropriate - of employee misconduct; providing support to the regional facilities and business units for the development and testing of business continuity and incident management plans; and supporting and responding, in conjunction with account teams or contract management, to customer security-related requests and contract reviews related to Avaya’s security position.


Additionally, they will provide, as needed, support for specific project and maintenance related activities of Avaya’s physical security systems, develop awareness materials as needed, and act as a point of contact with local/regional law enforcement and security agencies.


Key Activities & Accountabilities


  • Conduct thorough investigations into alleged corporate wrongdoing
  • Develop strong relationships with key leaders across the region to ensure security initiatives are understood and are supportive of moving business forward in a secure and ethical manner.
  • Provide effective and accurate responses to customer security audits and work with customers on follow-up activities;
  • Negotiate customer security requirements;
  • Ensure protection of assets through awareness, implementation of technology and application of security principles relating to asset protection, information protection and personnel security;
  • Develop and deploy a crisis management plans for locations within assigned regions;
  • Ensure security initiatives are aligned with business goals and objectives;
  • Support the design, management and maintenance of physical security systems, to include access control, closed circuit television and intruder alarm;
  • Develop awareness materials to educate employee within the region about current security issues and steps required to reduce or eliminate risks posed to company assets;
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with the law enforcement community; and
  • Provide ad-hoc knowledge and support on security related issues and requirements as they arise.

About the Individual


Education & Experience


  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, MIS, Criminal Justice, or related field.
  • Substantial demonstrable relevant experience in a corporate environment and/or government.
  • Industry certification highly desirable (CISSP, CPP, CFE. etc) 


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities


The successful candidate will:


  • Possess a solid understanding of security management principles and demonstrate the ability to apply that knowledge in a corporate environment
  • Possess a solid understanding of the ISO 27001/27002 security standards
  • Knowledge of forensics a plus
  • Exhibit flexibility and an ability to think creatively and in a way that identifies solutions
