About the Opportunity

The Technical Cloud Security and Customer Specialist will support Global Security’s responsibilities around securing the use of, and minimizing the risk associated with, Avaya’s use and implementation of cloud technologies. 

 

They must maintain current situational awareness of trends in cybersecurity threats, especially those related cloud operations and architecture, and must be able to shift from working detailed technical issues with peers to communicating those issues to customers at varying levels of technical detail.  In addition to communicating to a variety of audiences, the incumbent must also be able to think effectively at both a technically detailed level and strategically.

About the Responsbilities

  • Define and deliver control and risk management approaches for Avaya’s use of Azure, GCP, and AWS
  • Provide security consulting and assessment for Avaya’s private and hybrid cloud offers
  • Respond to customer inquiries around Avaya’s cloud offers, both verbally and in writing
  • Develop documentation that allows Avaya to effectively communicate its cloud security position with peers, business representatives, senior leadership, and customers
  • Negotiate customer cloud security requirements
  • Collaborate with Avaya IT and the BU’s in the assessment and development of cloud-based solutions, to ensure security is properly addressed
  • Develop relationships with IT, BU’s, and the sales and support organizations to ensure effective collaborative relationships
  • Participate in cloud security incident responses, and provide ad-hoc knowledge and support on security related issues and requirements as they arise.
     

About the Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, computer science, or related field. 
  • Solid experience of working with some combination of Azure, AWS, GCP, and private or hybrid-cloud deployments, including strong experience of development, operations, and oversight of security operations for large cloud deployments, to include standard cloud security toolsets. 
  • Experience with Datadog and industry certifications (CCSP, CCSK, CCP, etc). are pluses.
  • Demonstrate a solid grounding in information security principles and passion for security and have a deep understanding of cloud computing concepts and cloud security
  • Experience of implementing and assessing security within some combination of Azure, GCP, AWS tenancies, as well as experience with service-oriented architecture, private and hybrid clouds, and web services security
  • Evidence in depth experience with at least two of the following cloud security toolsets:
    • Azure:  Security Center, Cloud App Security, and Sentinel
    • Google:  Security Command Center, Cloud Key Management, Confidential Computing, or
    • AWS:  AWS Shield, Guard Duty, Macie
  • Highly effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to independently develop white papers, brochures, presentations and respond to customer questionnaire on cloud security issues
  • Have a solid understanding of industry standards such as PCI DSS, ISO 27xxx, HIPAA, NIST, etc.
