About the Opportunity

One of Avaya’s premier Contact Center products is the CMS (Call Management System). Avaya Contact Center solutions include traditional call center voice customer access, Internet customer access, e-mail customer access, multipurpose agent service, enterprise workflow management, and data acquisition and management reporting systems.


The CMS product focuses on the voice customer aspect of Avaya Contact Center Operation. CMS provides a reporting interface for Contact Center users and managers. It consists of a server-based system with GUI interface software that is installed on desktop PCs and a browser-based interface. The CMS server system interfaces with Avaya Communication Manager in order to provide reporting capabilities on call center agent activity. CMS is expected to provide reporting data related to these call as they are handled by the agent in real time, as well as historical data reporting.

About the Responsibilites

This position is for a software developer whose main role is to design, implement and unit test new features developed in the CMS product as well as create minor fixes to the existing code base for customer issues. New feature development must integrate with the existing product functionality and not cause adverse impact to existing customers. Thus, the work can cover everything from product installation, data backup and restore, logging, alarming, encryption, and user login validation as well as  design and architecture of the new feature functionality.

About the Requirements

Essential skills sets: (software, hardware, languages, OS, tools, etc.)

  • Programming skills in  C, C++ required
  • Experience developing product for Linux and VMware run time environments
  • Experience with Informix or SQL statement use
  • Familiarity with ODBC and JDBC
  • Familiarity with Java and Angular is a plus, but not required
  • Effective communication skills, oral and written, and the ability to function in a team environment
  • BSc or MSc in Computer Science or a related engineering field, 3-5 years experience programming in a larger development organization

Highly Desirable skill sets:       

  • Avaya CMS product experience or Avaya Call Center Elite feature understanding including SIP protocol and stations and Avaya Experience Portal is a plus
  • Experience with Visual Basic 6, Visual C++, and COM is also a plus, but not required
