About the Opportunity


As Scrum Master you will partner with business and technology teams to drive continuous improvement in cross-functional development processes, and directly lead the team of software developers with accountability for strategy, standards, and delivery execution of the platform/suite of applications. About the Responsibilities


  • The SM will be responsible for removing impediments from their team while promoting self-organizing and constantly improving our quality and standards of work. 
  • The Scrum Master is responsible for making sure an agile team lives by the values and practices of our agile delivery practice and is an individual that puts the team before themselves. 


Responsibilities include:


  • Organize and facilitate planning and other scrum master related activities such as daily stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives, demos etc. 
  • Track and communicate team velocity and sprint/release progress, including effective planning and utilization of scrum team capacity.
  • Maintain necessary artefacts in support of scrum team and program. Generate and share comprehensive and detailed reports about team performance, objectives and deadlines.
  • Ensure the development teams are practicing the core Agile principles of collaboration, prioritization, team accountability and visibility.
  • Assist as needed with backlog maintenance. 
  • Assist with internal and external communication, improving transparency and radiating information. 
  • Participate proactively in developing and maintaining delivery team standards, tools, and best practices. 
  • Prevent/Block distractions to the Delivery Team. 
  • Facilitate discussion and conflict resolution. Empower the team to self-organize. Resolve conflicts and remove impediments or guiding the team to remove impediments by finding the right personnel to remove the impediment.
  • Guide and provide encouragement to team members, including communicating team goals and creating an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture.
  • Answer team member questions and oversee team member work for quality and guideline compliance.
  • Collaborate with product owners and technical leads to enable an effective delivery process.
  • Thorough understanding of Agile software development methodologies, values and procedures.
  • Thorough understanding of the software development lifecycle.
  • Understanding of organization’s development platform and languages




  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to multitask
  • Strong communication, mentoring and leadership skills, able to communicate details and collaborate effectively
  • Proven work experience as a leader supervising, managing and motivating a team
  • Be self-driven and take on responsibility, when issues arise you are able to proactively roll up your sleeves, pull people together, and tackle them
  • Evidence strong experience with scrum and other Agile development methodologies
  • Demonstrate excellent facilitation and information reporting skills
  • Adapt to a dynamic business environment
  • Knowledge of JIRA or similar would be an advantage
