About the Opportunity

Avaya is an industry leader in multimedia Contact Center software across the small, medium and large enterprise sectors, deployed in On-Premise, Cloud and Hybrid environments. Avaya’s Contact Center development team is looking for a motivated and experienced team leader or scrum master to join our global team and support the delivery of Contact Center features, releases and solutions. You’ll play a critical role on the product leadership team supporting the software development teams and processes across the Avaya suite of applications. As a leader you will establish and maintain strong relationships with business, product, and technology leaders to deliver strategic platform and application capabilities.


As scrum master you will partner with business and technology teams to drive continuous improvement in cross-functional development processes and will lead the team of software developers with accountability for strategy, standards, and delivery execution. About the Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the planning of work for scrum teams including effective planning and utilization of scrum team capacity.
  • Guide and provide encouragement to team members, including communicating team goals and creating an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture.
  • Answer team member questions and oversee team member work for quality and guideline compliance.
  • Identify and work with senior management to resolve conflicts and remove impediments; or guide the team to remove impediments themselves.
  • Generate and share comprehensive and detailed reports about scrum and project performance, objectives and deadlines.
  • Collaborate with product owners and technical leads to enable an effective delivery process.

About the Requirements

  • Experienced with scrum and other Agile development methodologies, including the use of supporting tools such as Forge Jira.
  • Experience with the development of highly available real time Java-based applications in a VMware Linux environment would be an advantage.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to multitask.
  • Excellent communication, mentoring and leadership skills, and the ability to communicate details and collaborate effectively
  • Proven work experience as a leader supervising, managing and motivating a team
  • You are self-driven and take on responsibility; When issues arise, you can proactively pull people together to solve them.
  • Excellent facilitation and reporting skills, with the ability to adapt to a dynamic business environment.
  • BE/BSc in Electronic/Computer/Software Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent and at least 5 years relevant industrial experience.
