About the Global Sourcing Organisation - GSO

Headquartered in Raleigh North Carolina, the Global Sourcing Organization has responsibility to deliver lowest total cost of direct and indirect products and services to Avaya. This position will report into the Regional Sourcing Director in Galway, Ireland, and will be part of the regional procurement team. The role will interest an individual who has a background in either direct or indirect procurement and enjoys a dynamic and challenging environment and relishes the opportunity to develop, learn and contribute to Avaya’s bottom line performance. About the Opportunity

Responsibilities

  • Faciliate new contract development and reconstruct existing contracts
  • Responsible for driving cost reductions to meet GSO targets
  • Influence business unit leadership and functional business owners to optimize total cost of ownership
  • Provide oversight and guidance to business stakeholders relating to Avaya’s Purchasing Policy and related controls and compliance guidelines.
  • Fair value gatekeeper through PR approvals
  • Run Sourcing events: RFP, RFI and e Auctions
  • Manage QBR process with critical and/or strategic suppliers
  • Report accomplishments and communicate issues and opportunities to BU and GSO Leadership Teams

 

About You

  • Typically requires 5 - 8 years’ experience in either direct or indirect procurement.
  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Excellent communication, influencing and presentation skills
  • Strong excel and analytical skills
  • You have got to be a good team player
  • Must be able to draft and red-line contracts
  • Must be able to run an e Sourcing event end-to-end
  • IT systems knowledge in SAP (or similar ERP), Ariba, Coupa and MS Office
  • Language skills English - essential, and German - highy desirable
