About the Client Engineering Team

We are currently extending our Enterprise Clients Engineering team (Clients branded: Spaces, Workplaces & Workspaces) to accelerate the launch of our Next Generation of Web Clients as a Service assessable to remote users directly from the cloud. This project will also drive new innovative UX across all clients and is an exciting opportunity for visual user experience orientated people to get in at the start of the creative process and influence our end product. As Product Owner initially focused on Avaya Multimedia Contact Centres, you will be an integral leader of this high-business-value enterprise. You’ll be responsible for decisions that influence and shape the products and drive the Avaya Clients road map.


Avaya’s Clients Engineering team is looking for motivated and experienced Product Owners or equivalent role to join our globally distributed team and help us develop highly efficient, UX pleasing, flexible, tailored client experiences. You’ll partner with business stakeholders, Product Managers as well as directly with Customers to understand, analyse, refine, prioritise and communicate business needs which ensure that the UX & development teams fully understand the scope, objectives and requirements they are executing on.

About the Product Owner

The Product Owner leads collaboration, drives sprint priorities by creating and communicating requirements artifacts e.g. Features & User Stories, that translate business visions into executable requirements for UX/development scrum teams to deliver in an Agile environment. The Product Owner is a key co-signatory that the end product meets the business strategy, this means regular informal engagements with UX designers, client developers and the platform engineers, as well as organising/fronting constructive early demos business owners and with outside stakeholders to get feedback and evolve the application experience.

  • Own innovative products/features from concept to completion
  • Act as a liaison between Customers, business stakeholders and the development teams to translate business needs into executable requirements
  • Own, prioritise, and maintain the product backlog, including the definition of features, user stories, acceptance criteria. Breaking down high-level features into detailed-level user stories
  • Act as the subject-matter expert for assigned products/features, continuously communicating with stakeholders on the prioritisation of the product backlog and the progress of development via product demos
  • Assist the product leadership team to organise sprint backlogs to deliver maximum business value throughput while balancing trade-offs between product value, technology & design execution limitations
  • Work with Scrum Masters to help direct, motivate, and guide the scrum teams to deliver great product
  • Assist in maintaining a best in industry user experience by working closely with CX/UX designers, outlining requirements from our User’s persona point of view and having an aptitude for visual detail
About You

  • You are self-driven and take on responsibility; When issues arise, you are able to proactively roll up your sleeves, pull people together and tackle them
  • You have a technical background with an understanding of software development, platform technologies and services in the cloud
Bachelor degree or equivalent experience
Master degree or equivalent experience
