About the Role

Our EU HR team is currently seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to support our employees and leaders in Ireland and in The Netherlands. This role is based in Galway, Ireland.


Focused on driving business success, the HR Business Partner provides strategic and operational HR leadership to a geographic as well as business unit client base, aligning HR and Business Objectives. The HRBP acts as an internal consultant and trusted advisor for senior leaders, managers and employees and responds proactively to the unique needs of the geography and business unit.


The HRBP will provide proactive HR consulting services in relation to Talent Management and Total Rewards; Employee Relations, Organizational Design and Restructuring as well as Employee Engagement and People Manager/Leadership development. This includes the identification and resolution of critical issues for the geography and client groups and the implementation of HR policies and practices that are compliant with local legislation and align to global HR strategic objectives.

The HRBP will work collaboratively with Global and Regional HR team as well as the HR Centre of Expertise to ensure timely delivery of business solutions within the framework of the global HR strategy. The HRBP will support the flawless execution of HR management processes and tools and contribute to corporate and local HR projects.

About the Responsibilities
  • HR Generalist responsibilities: day to day management of local HR operations, administration of policies, procedures and programs
  • Partners with Leadership in support of company/ geography/ unit strategic plans and resource planning. Provides HR insight into the “people” function of the business/ strategic plans, including talent planning, talent management, employee engagement and organizational design
  • Provides HR solutions and delivers practical support to increase performance, engagement, retention and communication
  • Executes key HR programs and initiatives in alignment with global HR and business requirements
  • Demonstrates business acumen and an ability to proactively support, coach and influence at (senior) leadership level
  • Maintains updated knowledge of HR policies, procedures and best practices to guide the organisation in its commitment to maintaining legal compliance and promoting its fair and ethical employee values on a day to day basis. Advises on legal risks and manages regulatory compliance
  • Works with leadership to manage and resolve complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective investigations in a confidential and objective manner.
  • Works collaboratively with key stakeholders such as the Talent Acquisition Team on recruitment and onboarding and Global Employee Services on payroll and benefit queries and issues
  • In NL, represents the Employer in the Works Council, together with local Senior Management, according to the Works Council Law
About the Requirements
  • Strong overall knowledge on Ireland and Netherlands employment law and regulations
  • Human Resource experience in a generalist capacity
  • Knowledge of the Works Council Law in the Netherlands
  • Experience working as an individual contributor as well as an active participant in team projects with global and local HR team members
  • Ability to challenge, question, inspire, influence and energize others while remaining sensitive to the needs of the business
  • Ability to multitask effectively, operating in a fast-paced environment while ensuring attention to detail and accuracy
  • Data Judgement – applying judgement to data to support business decision making
  • High capacity to interact in a matrix organization
  • Fluent in English
  • Another European language is desirable (Dutch)
  • CIPD qualified or equivalent
  • Bachelor degree or equivalent
