ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Avaya Federal Solutions, Inc. is seeking a full-time Director of Federal Contracts in our Fairfax, Virginia office. The Director of Contracts will manage the federal contracts organization. The selected candidate will be responsible for enhancing business and contracting concepts to enable successful contract negotiation and administration for our Federal Government business. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the strategic role of Contracts Management is maintained and understood from pre award to contract close out. This position will be a direct report to Avaya’s VP of Global Contracts and is part of Avaya’s Legal, Compliance and Security organization.
- Manage a staff of Contracts professionals.
- Provide an environment that supports the professional development and growth of the Contracting team, ensuring appropriate staffing levels, succession planning and skills development to meet changing business needs.
- Actively participate in key, high-level strategy executive discussions with the ability to influence business decisions with regards to federal government contracting and procurement procedures, regulations, and requirements.
- Works closely with contracts, security, operations staff, and senior leadership and provides problem resolution and advice on strategic and complex contractual issues.
- Analyze and communicate new laws, regulations and contract/market trends and their potential impact on the Federal Solutions team.
- Support audits and other compliance activities and requirements.
- Oversee the tools/technology needs of the Federal Contracting team.
- Identify, lead, and implement process improvement initiatives that provide a positive impact on Federal contract/procurement operations.
ABOUT YOU
- The successful candidate will be a US Citizen residing in the DC Metropolitan Area
- Bachelor’s degree preferred (or commensurate experience) and 10 years of experience in federal government contracting/procurement.
- 3 years management experience - including the ability to mentor/coach; evaluate staffing and workload levels; evaluate performance and skills.
- Comprehensive knowledge and experience of full life-cycle federal procurement/contracts, including but not limited to, pre-solicitation, solicitation, contract execution, contract performance, and contract close-out phase activities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with the following contract types: Cost Plus, FFP, T&M, IDIQ, BPA, Task Orders, and GSA Federal Supply Schedule contracts.
COMPENSATION
The pay range for this opportunity is from $179,500 to $242,350 + performance-related bonus + benefits. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary for this position and is based on being in office in Fairfax VA daily. This role is also eligible to receive an annual bonus that aligns with individual and company performance. Actual salaries will vary and are based on factors such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and location.
