ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

The Global Sourcing Organization Software team is seeking a Direct Software Sourcing Senior Manager, capable of interacting w/Avaya Senior Management & Executive Teams regarding sourcing Software components to support Avaya’s broad product portfolio. To be successful in this role you will have accountability for Software sourcing that supports new product introduction and provides direction to Avaya R&D Labs in the proper utilization and deployment of 3rd Party Software that are embedded, packaged, or shipped with Avaya’s product portfolio, including hosting environment and cloud to cloud solutions. You are also experienced and capable with the daily management of $25M to $75M in annual Software sourcing and licensing activities and managing the associated suppliers.

ABOUT THE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • You will manage and work within a framework related to sourcing, supplier evaluation & award, establishment of procurement (licensing) practices & ensuring cost, quality & delivery performance metrics for managing 3rd Party Software suppliers.
  • Negotiate global agreements for software and related support services; review and amend existing agreements.
  • Drafting of appropriate contractual terms to achieve Avaya’s business, financial and contract objectives while minimizing or eliminating risk exposure to Avaya.
  • You will advise and provide direction to internal Product Development Teams, evaluating advantageous business models for future new product sales while ensuring the developed Requests for Proposal, Quotations or Information for specific product requirements that meet all 3rd Party licensing restrictions and metrics.
  • Support expansion and growth of Avaya’s solution portfolio through negotiation and management of 3rd party licensing agreements to support multiple customer-facing business models.
  • Achieving your objectives will require you to ensure compliance with Avaya policies, procedures and directives including adherence to minimum contract terms and receipt of approvals from various Avaya stakeholders.
  • You will produce business results that align with Avaya’s overall revenue and cost objectives, including providing transactional support for 3rd party supplier transactions as required to align with business objectives.

ABOUT THE REQUIREMENTS

 

EXPERIENCE:

  • Established history of producing results in technology sourcing, and business experience in the Software domain, in particular: Computing Platforms, Operating Systems, Codecs, application services delivered from cloud infrastructure.
  • Managing various aspects of software licensing, protection of Intellectual Property (IP) rights/ownership for the organization and from a 3rd party perspective.
  • Applying prudent sourcing & procurement business practices and techniques.
  • Demonstrated experience closing commercial business contracts and with contracting related processes.
  • Applying Information Technology (IT) management practices to achieve sourcing value outcomes.
  • Advanced Experience or Knowledge of Hosted solutions, managed Services, Cloud Computing and Virtualization is required.
  • Commercialization of software offers from a supply chain perspective to align with multiple customer-facing business models: subscription, bursting, pay per use, and 3rd party cloud integrated offers for OEM or reseller.

  • The team is distributed globally, and virtual meetings are routine
  • Must be able to manage working across multiple Regions/Geographies & time zones

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATION:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. MBA Preferred.

COMPENSATION - SECTION PERTAINS TO COLORADO APPLICANTS ONLY

Pursuant to the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act and Equal Pay Transparency Rules, the following will apply to all candidates that are hired for a role in either an onsite office location in Colorado or remotely in Colorado:

  • Salary ranges are based on a good faith estimate based on a number of factors including specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to other employees already in this role;
  • Most candidates will start in the bottom half of the range and may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by Colorado Equal Pay Transparency Rule 4.1.2;
  • Similar positions located outside of Colorado will not necessarily receive the same compensation;
  • If performed in Colorado, the annual salary generally ranges between $115,400.00 - $155,700.00 with the opportunity for a company-wide annual discretionary bonus, through our Annual Incentive Plan (AIP), of up to 17% of eligible pay; and
  • We do not request prior salary information.
