ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Preferred location is within a commutable distance to our offices in Durham, N.C. but there is the opportunity for this role to be hybrid or 100% remote in another location.   All applicants must be already be located in the U.S and this role is not eligible for sponsorship.

Avaya supplies hardware as part of its collaboration and communication solution. Demand Planning Manager position is responsible for hardware forecasting activities associated with products being managed; creating and maintaining forecast models, incorporating forecast information gathered from sales, marketing, finance, replenishment analysts, and lifecycle transitions.

To be successful in this role you will have to have strong technical and analytical skills, drive change and improvements, have a desire to learn and develop and take a leadership role.

ABOUT THE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop demand forecasts at multiple levels of aggregation.
  • Review sales plans and opportunities, finance outlooks, demand drivers and promotional plans to recommend adjustments for operational forecasts
  • Review historical sales trends, Distributor inventory and inventory, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, review statistical forecast models, apply error analysis techniques to improve forecast accuracy, and evaluate forecast results.
  • Interact with Product Management, Sales and Finance to understand demand forecast drivers.
  • Utilize a collaborative and consensus approach by working with Product Management, Sales and Finance to obtain and ensure that current and accurate information is used for demand forecasts.
  • Maintain and develop the functionality of the demand planning system and software as the primary forecasting system tool.
  • Provide input to the Supply Planning organization in developing inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product phase-outs.
  • Determine optimal forecast buffers and safety stock to optimize inventory, expedite expense and revenue.
  • Collaborate with Product Management, Sales, Supply Planning and sales tool teams to demand shape for new product introductions, and product phase-outs.
  • Facilitate and manage demand planning/customer meetings to achieve consensus with the business side and the demand chain
  • Prepare and maintain relevant reports pertaining to demand planning process and S&OP reviews.

ABOUT THE REQUIREMENTS

 

EXPERIENCE:

  • 5 - 8 years Supply Chain experience in a global supply chain environment
  • Working experience of SAP and Kinaxis Rapid Response or other software related to demand planning, to an advanced user level.

 

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

  • Demonstrated proficiency in statistics, forecasting and forecasting methods with an understanding of their financial and operational impacts
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with all teams, areas and levels of business affecting the forecast process.
  • Work with minimal direction and review by senior management.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, decision making, and presentation skill.
  • Proven record demonstrating the ability to drive change and deliver on objectives.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills specifically Excel and PowerPoint
  • Good facilitation skills.

 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • This role is full time, with 40 working hours per week and options for flexibly working.
  • Minimal travel is required.

 

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATION:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required
  • APICS or other forecasting Certification preferred
