The Opportunity

The Equinox Cloud group is looking for an experienced and creative Video Software Consulting Engineer to join its new program at our development center in Coppell. As part of the team, you will be expected to architect, design, and implement elastically scalable, high performance, real-time communications applications. All candidates must have excellent communication skills, must be a proven problem solver and have a passion for delivering high quality solutions.



  • Work directly with product managers, sales teams and end customers, with responsibility for the discovery and documentation of business requirements
  • Research, experiment, prototype new software technologies and concepts to improve our solutions (e.g. GPU, H.264, H.265, AVC/SVC, Artificial Intelligence,  DevSecOps, etc.)
  • Architect and design new software components, Microservices and software solutions
  • Deliver new software applications iteratively as part of an agile/scrum cycle
  • Build and deliver compelling customer focused demonstrations
  • Identify and implement areas for continuous process improvement

    About the Individual


  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • 5+ years of development experience
  • Ability to work with diverse global teams
  • Ability to take total ownership of assigned components
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Experience in building and maintaining scalable and distributed systems.
  • Team Player, self-starter and be self-driven
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • A passion for prototyping and experimenting with latest technology trends

Required Skills

  • Proven industry experience in a Software or Solution Architect role.
  • Technical leadership/influence inside and outside organization.
  • Direct architecture and development experience with multimedia communications products
  • System and signaling knowledge (REST, WebRTC, SIP, H.323, RTSP, Skype, etc.) or video codec integration/tuning (H.264. H.265, TSVC, SVC, VP8, VP9 etc.)
  • Strong C++ or Java/JEE skills
  • Demonstrated experience in software development lifecycle. Previous experience or willingness to learn and apply new DevSecOps concepts:
    • Continuous integration/delivery, source code control, utilization of automation and test frameworks
  • Front-end dev skills (HTML5, CSS, Javascript, Angular, Bootstrap, etc.) are a plus
  • Desirable but no required experience in: Container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), Native cloud development, Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning techniques.
