ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Responsible for assisting with implementation and execution of a cloud migration strategy solution with our client, cross-service teams, and third-party partners. The Senior Systems engineer will need to understand the adoption challenges implementing a Unified Communication infrastructure within a Federally Certified Cloud environment.

ABOUT THE RESPONSIBILITIES

Must have an extensive knowledge of VMWare and vSphere design, integration and deployment within an IL5 environment They must also possess knowledge of Windows as well as the following skillsets,

 

  • Install, configure new applications, apply application patches and upgrades, and upgrade administrative tools and monitoring utilities.
  • Lead system integration projects as the technical lead
  • Provide Tier II/III application investigation and troubleshooting support for all entities within the organization.
  • Perform periodic security and performance reviews.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation.
  • Provide professional oral and written communications to effectively convey issues, reports, and other deliverables to counterparts.
  • Develop new system and application implementation plans, and testing procedures to ensure operational reliability.
  • Plan for and maintain development networks, storage, virus definitions and collaboration tools, create and maintain user accounts.
  • Remediate identified vulnerabilities within the FedRAMP mandated timelines.

ABOUT THE REQUIREMENTS

EXPERIENCE
 

First consideration will be given to candidates who have one or more of the following:

 

• Knowledge or Training on VMware and ESX 6.0+ deployment, configuration, and maintenance.

• Experience leading system integration projects as the technical lead.

• Active Directory experience in a large environment.

• Strong scripting skills.

• NetApp or other storage administration and operation experience.

• LAN/WAN networking experience.

• Ability to apply ITIL v3 Foundation concepts within the workplace.

• Experience working with customers to capture/document requirements

EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in telecommunications or computer science plus related field experience as a System engineer.
  • Must have at least 4 years of Systems Administration/Engineering experience.
  • Must have at least 1 year experience in designing, building and maintaining operational systems on VMware virtual hosting environments. • Extensive experience working with cross platform networks consisting of Linux and Windows operating systems (Redhat, Windows Server2012/2016, Windows 7/10), VMware (ESXi, vCenter), and other server related technology such as network devices and load balancers.
  • Must have working knowledge of PKI, Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft IIS, SQL Server, SIEM products, and virtualized environments.
  • Applicant must be able to thrive in a team environment with the engineering users and other systems administrators as well as work with other computer/facility support organizations and work well multi-tasking various related efforts.
  • Must have good communications skills, both written and verbal and will be responsible for detailed documentation of all aspects of various system installation and configuration efforts.

5 - 6 years of experience and a Bachelor degree or equivalent, or 4 years of experience and a Master degree or equivalent
