We are seeking a Senior Data & AI Solution Architect/Manager with diverse technical experience in contact center and unified communications as cloud services (CCaaS and UCaaS).  You will provide deep understanding in how these domains collect, measure, and report data across the vast types of communication channels now utilized in today’s CCaaS and UCaaS markets.  As a Senior Data & AI Architect, you can navigate the challenge of pushing the organization to envision forward thinking solutions and services by defining and delivering new and creative unified models, augmented with artificial intelligence, that meet or exceed our key business performance measures and opens up new paths of revenue through service development and evolution.

The Senior Data & AI Solution Architect role works closely with technology and business leadership to envision and develop strategies that challenge current thinking, processes and rules. You will enable strategic, big-picture design thinking for the business and how it operates, while collaborating with business and technical counterparts to drive delivery of systems that clearly align to key business functional and performance indicators. You will provide a comprehensive, enterprise and operational view, ensuring output and artifact quality at all levels. You will be expected to work across the enterprise domains to drive architecture and design runways that result in implemented CCaaS and UCaaS solutions

The role involves working closely with Avaya’s cloud-centric product and service portfolio.  You will need to quickly become the data expert and trusted advisor to both Avaya’s development and product line communities as well as our customer base.  Once specific data solutions are agreed to, the Senior Data & AI Architect will design the solution, then work with assigned development team to confirm the solution design meets the solution requirements.

•    Engage with senior levels of leadership (both technical and business) with clear communication, appropriate levels of context and explanation, using visual and data representations when needed, to effect decisions and direction of strategy, and bridge the gap between business and tech-speak.
•    Assess technology trends and direction providing guidance on how those trends will impact organization opportunities as well as risks
•    Develop technology architecture strategies based on a situational awareness of various business scenarios and motivations.
•    Partner with other Architects to ensure consistent translation of enterprise architecture decisions to solution architects, conduct solution design reviews, and arbitrate solution design conflicts across domains
•    Align technology strategies to key business performance metrics
•    Account for possible project challenges on constraints including, risks, time, resources and scope
•    Capture tactical and strategic goals to provide traceability through the organization
•    Drive and facilitate the discussions with business leaders to identify technology capabilities that inform current and future business objectives
•    Lead, build, manage, enhance technology capability models along a maturity and optimization framework to drive enablement of the longer-term roadmap
•    Define the data shared across the enterprise and the relationships between those data

•    Technically creative and open-minded
•    Experience in Agile development methodologies
•    7+ years’ experience as a Data Architect
•    7+ years’ Data Lakes and/or Warehouse experience.
•    7+ years’ experience with data profiling and modeling
•    7+ years’ experience integrating data from disparate sources
•    7+ years’ understanding of the cloud architecture patterns and solution design principles
•    5+ years’ knowledge of various cloud-centric data storage and analytics tools
•    Proficient in Data Governance practices and experience
•    Able to gather requirements from both IT, business partners, and customers
•    Demonstrated ability to create high quality technical artifacts
•    Experience in defining and implementing Hybrid scenarios with workloads, at scale, shared across on premise, cloud services, and application Integration between cloud and on-premise environments


•    Influencer of vision and mission in Avaya’s data services roadmap
•    Able to mentor and manage engineering teams of data scientists and engineers
•    Recognized leader among peers within engineering community
•    Presentation skills, to explain complex concepts in a simple and understandable way
•    Works only under general supervision.
•    Self-sufficient, defines own objectives and goals.


•    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experience
•    Advance degree preferred
•    12+ years industry related experience


•    COPC certification and standard measures
•    ICMI contact center site certification
•    Data Science Associate (DASCA) certification
