About the Opportunity

Avaya is looking for a Software developer with software development skills to build custom applications for our professional service team. This role will be customer facing, work closely with customer and Avaya Architects to create value add custom software applications that enhance the Avaya solution portfolio. The Software developer will be responsible of designing, developing, testing and integrating their software applications into Avaya customer solutions. They will have the ability to work either independently or as part of a team with partners and customers to develop best in class applications.

About the Responsibilities

  • Work with the Software development Architect to help define business requirements to develop technical Avaya solutions and their framework.
  • Design, test, and inspect customer data and voice topology, helps with modelling, analysis, and planning.
  • Works with appropriate parties to resolve discrepancies between proposed systems and enterprise quality and security standards.
  • Manage multiple technology vendors providing integration analysis and test plans.
  • Be a self-starter and able to pick new things on the go.
  • Designs and develops computer software possessing a wide range of capabilities, including numerous engineering, business, and records management functions.
  • Write functional and non-functional requirements/specifications documents
  • This is a regional role so candidate must be willing to travel around 30% of employment time.

About the Requirements

  • Candidates MUST have a desire to develop their career within the professional services industry.
  • The individual will display Drive, initiative, organizational skills, pro-activity and a keenness to learn a must be able to work autonomously or within a team
  • Knowledge of Cloud Services technology AWS or Azure or Google cloud would be useful.
  • Experience working in software implementation, software integration or software deployment methodology’s and would like to take it to the next level. E.g. SME.
  • Understanding of Microservices architecture for distributed application design.
  • SQL Server – ETL experience.
  • API – RESTful – XML – XSLT – JSON experience all beneficial.
  • Basic understanding of Linux / Shell Scripting etc.
  • Ability to extract and analyse customer requirements; and translate them into technical requirements.
  • An ability to adapt and adhere to enterprise delivery standards.
  • Willingness to operate and progress in areas that are outside of previous experience.
  • Be familiar with writing technical documentation.
  • Experience of working effectively within a team and of displaying good communication skills.
  • IT related degree or higher education qualification preferable but not essential
