About The Opportunity

This position will be part of the Cloud Platform team responsible for enabling \ achieving Observability for Avaya’s Public Cloud solutions. We are looking for analytical, agile, and influential individuals who can quickly deliver meaningful results and solutions with the flexibility to accommodate evolving business needs and shifting priorities.

About The Responsibilities

•Enable \ Achieve Observability of all components contributing to the Public Cloud solution using Datadog and \ or Azure Platform
•Enabling involves configuring, scripting, automating the 3 pillars of Observability – logs, metrics and traces
•Working and partnering with our Network, Compute, Security, Database, Applications, and additional teams to provide availability, reliability, and observability for our Public CCaaS solution.
•Work on building our next-generation IT operations through Automation, Code, Analytics, and continuous improvement.
•Work with Cloud Platform, Development, QA, SIL, Production Support associates on a day to day basis and help them streamline, optimize, develop and build effective troubleshooting and monitoring solutions.
 

About The Requirements

EXPERIENCE

4+ years of Software Engineering with proven understanding of the value of Observability as a practice.

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

•Experience with logging systems and concepts (Datadog, Elasticsearch, Fluentd, Splunk, etc).
•Experience with metrics systems (Statsd, Prometheus, Graphite etc) and associated best practices.
•Exposure to distributed tracing platforms (Lightstep, Honeycomb, Jaegar, Zipkin etc).
•Proficiency with one or more programming languages (Java, Python, Go, Node.js or other equivalent languages).
•Knowledge of containers and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
•Infrastructure as Code knowledge – Terraform, Ansible, Git, Puppet, Jenkins
•Some experience with Public Cloud Platforms – Azure (preferred), GCP, AWS.
•Professional experience in a "continuous integration & deployment" environment.
•Advantage for hands-on experience with Datadog, SolarWinds, Pingdom, PagerDuty, ServiceNow or other similar platforms
•Excellent problem-solving skills: ability to multi-task and prioritize
•Ability to work independently; works well under pressure
•Possess solid communication skills, and will be comfortable working in a fast-paced technical environment
