About The Opportunity

Avaya is looking for an experienced paralegal to join our legal team. The role will be based in Pune, India. The Legal department is a worldwide function that supports all aspects of the business in all countries in which Avaya operates. A successful candidate will be able to navigate various areas in the legal department, including but not limited to corporate, litigation, regulatory and compliance, as well as overall organizational administration. Agility and flexibility to adapt to a fast-paced and changing environment is crucial.

About The Requirements

Responsibilities:
•Organize and prepare for meetings, including gathering documents and attending to logistics of meetings.
•Preparing corporate board minutes, resolutions and POAs.
•Assistance with budget process, including purchase order creation,management and processing of invoices. 
•Participating and working in collaboration with a wide variety of staff members on special assignments and projects.
•Support the filings and information updates in the Corporate database.
•Coordinate travel arrangements and expenses for Legal Leadership Team.
•Liaise and coordinate with Product Management to ensure compliance with regulatory laws..Managing matter creation, monitoring status, and report creation using Legal Tracker. 
•Handling of external communications, both verbal and in written correspondence, from legal counsel, court officials, regulators, vendors, customers and other stakeholders.
•Preparing responses to correspondence containing routine inquiries, making referrals to appropriate staff as required and serving as focal point for follow-up actions.
•Support the preparation, execution and distribution of documents and/or attestations re officers, addresses, ownership associated with KYC/AML/UBO legislations.
•Support notarization process for document as needed and assist in obtaining apostilles when necessary.
•Supporting litigation and pre-litigation matters from intake to settlement.
•Assist with department or headquarters-wide activities.
•Assisting with preparation of presentations and reports.
•Assist with gathering documents and information in response to information requests.
•Other duties and general administrative tasks, as needed.
  

About The Requirements

•3 to 6 years of experience in-house legal department or in a law firm as associate or paralegal
•Fluent English required and proficiency in other European language and/or Mandarin desired
•Excellent organizational skills and strong administrative skills
•Bachelor's or Associate’s degree desired
•Ability to manage complex and varied workload, including prioritization of work
•Excellent written and verbal communications skills
•Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality and discretion
•Professional demeanor and excellent written and verbal communication skills
•Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team
•Ability to remain flexible in potentially unpredictable situations, and adapt to various assignments and workflow
•Proficiency with all Microsoft Office applications
•Familiarity with Legal Tracker, SAP, hCue, PO systems,Sharepoint and Docusign is a benefit
•Familiarity with basic corporate governance principles, filing requirements and statutory record keeping
•Proactive approach to tasks
•Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality and discretion.
